About Jaylyn!
I grew up in Santa Monica, California.
My Aunt Gloria taught me to cook as a child and I have been cooking
and baking ever since. Although I have attended cooking classes,
seminars, etc.... I am virtually self-taught. I am constantly
looking for new developments, new techniques, and training in the
food industry. My focus is on creating healthy and delicious meal
choices for families and improving our quality of life. If you have
good food and more time with your family and friends your lifestyle
improves - we become happier and healthier.
I started cooking professionally
in 1997 when 'Celia and Jaylyn Catering' and later 'Catering by
Jaylyn', both located in Los Altos, California became a reality
and a dream come true. I sold 'Catering by Jaylyn' in april 2000
and returned to my home in Lake Tahoe. 'Personal Chef by Jaylyn'
officially started in 2004. I am a member of the US Personal Chef
Association, The Northern California Chapter USPCA, ServSafe certified,
and fully insured.

I first moved to South Lake Tahoe
in 1975. I relocated and spent 9 years on the Big Island of Hawaii
and 3 years on the Peninsula in Los Altos, California. I enjoy skiing,
hiking, snow shoeing, my dogs (Kimo, Jamie, and Eddie), and time with my
family and friends. I have a wonderful son, Toby, who is 28. He
resides in the East Bay and works as a 3D artist. He is my biggest fan and moral support.
Mission
Statement
The Mission of my Personal Chef Service is to make a positive difference
in peoples lives and create more quality time for my clients and
their families. Food brings people together and creates a time for
enjoying a meal and each others company at the end of a busy day.
